The First Ad-Hoc Working Group Meeting of 2019

On 24th January 2019, Thai-EU FLEGT Secretariat Office (TEFSO) had hold the first ad-hoc working group meeting of 2019 at the Miracle Grand Convention, Bangkok. The meeting led by Mr Poramin Wongsuwat, the deputy director general of the Royal Forest Department (RFD).

This meeting aimed to bring the draft Import Control document to the resolution before submitting to the EU for consideration. Moreover, the meeting provided chances for updating the progress of the projects that were; Applying Thailand’s national Chain of Custody to pilot electronic or paper-based self-declarations for unregulated species on private land and the electronic registration for mill under the national single window, Catalysing sources of legal timber and wood products, and Supporting the use of the RFD NSW system to facilitate legality verification and supply chain control for smallholder rubber wood project. Also, during the meeting had discussed over the VPA Roadmap of FLEGT VPA Process in Thailand.
