On 14th December 2018, the video conference between Thailand and the European Union was arranged at the EU delegation to Thailand, Athinee Tower. The conference led by Mr Atthapol Charoenchansa, Deputy Director General of the Thai Royal Forest Department, from the Thai side and Mr Luca Perez, the EU focal point, act as a key representative from the EU.

This meeting aimed to provide updates on the development of FLEGT VPA annexes and to discuss over some remaining sceptical issues. Besides, it also aimed to consider each document prepared by Thailand in detail and an academic way (by focusing only on key points).

During the meeting, the Thai side had reported the progress from the second Negotiation. Thailand has organised the sub-working groups to discuss and revise each annexes.  There were 3 LD sub-working group meetings, 4 import control sub-working groups, 1 SCC on private land sub-working group meeting and 4 TLAS & SCC sub-working group meetings. The sub-working group meeting’s result was brought into discussion in the ad-hoc working group. Moreover, all related documents and the meeting’s result were brought into the EFI Technical Meeting during 19-21 November 2018.
