12 December 2017 – Mrs. Yingluck Patiphanthewa, president of Private Forest Plantation Cooperative Limited, together with Mr. Ukrit Kalayee and Mr.Jittiwat Srilapat consulted with Mr. Banjong Wongsrisoontorn, director of Thai – EU FLEGT Secretariat Office (TEFSO) on participation in any projects of Royal Forrest Department which are related to commercial timber.
This consultation was aimed to discuss any projects which are related to mentioned timber. The Private Forest Plantation Cooperative Limited demands to participate in encouraging commercial timber on the lands with a certificate of ownership to be legally registered. In addition, they thought that FLEGT VPA progress’s advantages and purposes on legality are similar to the cooperative. To achieve FLEGT VPA Progress on unrestricted timber certification on private land, Royal Forest Department assigned the cooperative to plan the farmer training on tree registration by e-Tree. Both agreed that the tree registration by electronic systems are convenience and will attract more people to plant commercial timber for an occupation.
