Criteria for Assessment of the Operational Readiness of the Thai Timber Legality Assurance System

Criteria for Assessment of the Operational Readiness of the Thai Timber Legality Assurance System is the Eighth annex out of 10 annexes of FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA).

This annex aims to be the criteria or guidelines to assess the TLAS. The process of negotiating the content of an annex on legality assurance system assessment criteria can be an opportunity for stakeholders to ensure certain mechanisms are in place before FLEGT licensing begins. Stakeholders may require criteria on participation and consultation mechanisms, complaint mechanisms and structures to ensure transparency.
