The Thai Ad-Hoc Working Group Hold Their 7th Meeting within 2018

On November 14th, 2018, Thai – EU FLEGT Secretariat Office had organised the 7th ad-hoc working group for year 2018 at Rama Gardens Hotel. The meeting led by Mr Banjong Wongsrisoontorn, the director of Forest Certification Division, Royal Forest Department. 

This meeting aimed to follow up on each remaining issues and updates from each sub-working group including updates on Timber Legality Assurance System (TLAS) and Supply Chain Control (SCC) data flow and updates on the draft paper of import control and its remaining issues. Also, it aimed to provide updates on projects supported by FAO regarding supply chain control on private land. Moreover, there was an update on the self- declaration system between recycled and reclaimed timber. The second draft of legality definition (LD) paper was also concluded and seek for the meeting resolution for bringing it to the discussion with the EU.

The resolution regarding the meeting will be brought for discussion with the European Forest Institute (EFI) for further process on 19th – 21st November 2018.
