On 8 May 2018, Thai – EU FLEGT Secretariat Office (TEFSO) had arranged the third ad-hoc working group meeting 2018 leading by Mr. Uthapol Charoenchansa, the Deputy Director General of the Royal Forest Department acting as the chairman. This meeting aimed to report result on the third Joint Expert Meeting (JEM3) and to report results on National FLEGT Committee which was held on 2 May 2018, as well as to discuss over other related issues.

The meeting started with a result report from JEM3 meeting, held on 21-22 March 2018, by Mr.Banjong Wongsrisoontorn, the director of Forest Certification Office together with a result report from the meeting of the National FLEGT Committee, held on 2 May 2018. After that, Mrs.Pavinee Udommai, a consultant for LD revision, presented the scope of work, the way of working, and work plan as the consultant to the meeting. According to the presentation, these will be based on field test suggestions and Thailand’ s consent on revising the document. The working duration is within 6 months.

Moreover, the TEFSO work plan and the TLAS consultant’s scope of work had been presented to the meeting. This work plan is based on the VPA roadmap. VPA Legal Text was also raised in the meeting as it was suggested to appoint a sub-working group to mainly discuss on VPA Legal Text for the further process. This is in order to be a preparation for Thailand before the upcoming negotiation with the EU.
