Thai Import Control Sub-Working Group Met a Representative from EFI

On 17th October 2018, Thai Import Control Sub-Working Group, leading by Thai Timber Association, had arranged a discussion with Mr Alexander Hinrichs, a representative from European Forest Institute (EFI)At MR213 meeting room, 2nd floor, at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre.

This meeting aimed to provide updates on the general information within the DDS form which had already been compare between the scope of Thai law and the EUTR regulations. The comparison found that all the general information had already reflected the EUTR regulation excluding some parts regarding the social and environmental responsibility.

Moreover, the meeting also aimed to discuss over the criteria for risk assessment, and the procedures of requesting the additional document for those indicated as high-risk products as well as to discuss over the issuance of the certificate of origin (CO).
